ISMICK Poster Format

We apologize, but apparently the email we sent with the poster format did not reach everybody.

CLICK HERE FOR THE POSTER FORMAT

We have uploaded the format to the site and will be sending a new email.

It is a powerpoint file, mainly to mark page size. You can use the area as you see fit, but we encourage the use of images in lieu of extensive text paragraphs.  Participants will walk by the posters, and are unlikely to stop to read extensive text (that’s not to say there shouldn’t be text on your posters, just that it should be short and direct – like something you would put on slides). Design your poster so the main ideas can quickly be grasped by the observer, and use it as a conversation piece. Make it exciting so people will come look! The main points of your research should be presented and can be used when you explain your work to others.

Bring your poster to the conference as early as possible on the first day for hanging and setup, and remember to register for the conference beforehand to take advantage of the discount. The poster session will take place on Monday, Nov 3, in the afternoon.

 *** DEADLINE EXTENDED TO OCT 19 ***

ISMICK 2008 invites authors to submit short papers describing work in progress in the field of knowledge management, and in particular, related to knowledge based innovation.

We are looking for innovative studies, student projects, and ongoing research that, while not necessarily complete, shows promise and offers fresh insight and ideas.

Papers should follow the ISMICK formatting guidelines, downloadable below. Work in progress papers should be no longer than 4 pages and should be written in english. All submitted papers will be reviewed and authors of selected papers will receive notification of acceptance by the poster committee by 19 Oct 2008. Final versions of accepted work in progress papers will be included in the ISMICK 2008 proceedings.

Authors of accepted work in progress papers are expected to present their work as a poster in the poster session. The poster session is an exciting new format added this year to the ISMICK onference. It provides an opportunity not only to showcase recent research but also for closer interaction and discussion with other attendees.

Papers should be sent to ismick2008@addlabs.uff.br (or ismick2008@gmail.com, as a backup).

The deadline for submission is 19 October 2008. (*** EXTENDED ***)

ISMICK 2008 Location Change

Due to construction going on at the previously selected hotel, the organization committee has elected to change the conference venue.

ISMICK 2008 will now be held at UFF – Fluminense Federal University, in Niterói. Dates remain the same. Travel and hotel details are forthcoming. Niterói is a smaller town a short distance from Rio. We believe at this new venue we will have more opportunities for interaction and greater focus on the discussions.

More details on the new location can be found here.
